Does Albertsons (grocery store) or the union do Random Drug Testing after they hire you?

I saw one of the clerks from my local store looped up on something when he wasnt working. I thought Albertsons did random drug testing.

I work for Stater Bros. in Southern California. I do not know about other states, but here in California the companies can test for drugs during the hiring process. After that, Drug Tests are only performed when an on the job injury occurs. If a worker is tested positive for drugs and opts to go through rehab on company dime, then the company can do random drug tests on that employee. Just a side note, an employee can also be required to be drug tested if they damage more than three hundred dollars of product. This is per union contract.
